Shakespeare’s first folio from Senate House Library University of London.To mark the 400th anniversary there are digital versions of two copies of the First Folio: the Durning-Lawrence Library copy and the Sterling Library copy. There are also associated academic blog articles being added online to the website.
The Merchant of Venice 1936
A new adaptation of the Shakespeare play transported, along with a female Shylock, to London’s East End, 1936. Tensions run high as Shylock is confronted by the British Union of Fascists. The play’s website includes an extended storytelling platform and educational pack.
First folios
First folios compared Launched by AM, First Folios Compared was built in 2023 in order to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the publication which in 1623 brought together 36 of Shakespeare’s plays. The website enables comparison of digital versions. It also has background information on the publications.
