Save the children Fund report on UK Child Poverty
The new report A Fair start for every child: Why we must act now to tackle child poverty in the UK forecasts shocking rates of poverty amongst families by 2020. It looks at the main causes of this and considers the impact on children’s lives. Other good resources for understanding child poverty in the UK include:
- CPA: the Child Poverty Action Group website which has basic news, facts and figures about child poverty in the UK. It also includes an interactive map of poverty in different regions.
- End Child Poverty Campaign – supported by over 150 organisations. Use the website to access campaign materials plus facts and figures.
- Joseph Rowntree Foundation– A key research group which has examples of full text research reports on its website.
- NCB – National Children’s Bureau is a leading UK charity. Its website has details of its projects and research in this area.
