Dialect and Heritage project
This project from the University of Leeds in partnership with local museums aims to update the original 1951 survey of dialects which surveyed mainly older men in rural areas. It aims to collect and geographically map local terms in use in Britain today.
The site has images from the older survey and articles on words for food and other aspects of daily life.
