Controversy continues concerning the WHO stance towards homosexuality. Its International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems – Edition 10 (1990) stated that sexual orientation by itself was not to be regarded as a mental disorder, however it retained Table F66 –Psychological and behavioural disorders associated with sexual development and orientation which many commentators such as the American Psychological Association have argued causes ongoing stigma. A working group is now reviewing the classification
