Foreign students and Immigration: Should they be counted in net figures? The debate continues.
Other good places for research:
- UK official immigration data
- Parliamentary discussion: the Home affairs select committee has some recent reports.
- Universities UK has research on public attitudes towards foreign students.
- IPPR conducted research in 2012
- HEFCE has data on demand for UK HE from international students. It also has some literature reviews and research reports on international students.
- UKICSA also maintains data and lists recent research on international students in the UK.
- Migration watch has a different perspective emphasising negative impact.
- Search the international Education Research Database to find references to other reports and articles.
- The Migration Observatory is also a good place for finding briefing papers and discussion. For instance see this 2014 paper on non European student migration.
