An academic series funded by the United Kingdom Research Innovation and the Arts and Humanities Research Council as part of the grant awarded for Agency and Advocacy: Locating Women’s Grassroots Activism in England and Ireland, 1918 to the present.
It focuses on experiences in Ireland with oral history accounts of ways in which members of the Irish Countrywomen’s Association, the Soroptimists International Great Britain and Ireland, the National Federation of Women’s Institutes and the Federation of Women’s Institutes of Northern Ireland contributed to enhancing the lives of women and girls locally, nationally and globally.
Episodes cover grassroots activism, craftivism and inter-generational organising.
