Locating London’s past

Locating London’s past This revamped website enables searching of digital resources relating to early modern and eighteenth-century London. The results are then mapped on to a version of John Rocque’s Survey of London, Westminster & Southwark, 1746.

Datasets include:

• Mortality and Plague in 1665
• Hearth tax in 1666
• London Lives, 1690-1800: Crime, Poverty and Social Policy in the Metropolis
• Archaeological Evidence Records of clay tobacco pipes and glass tableware from London archaeological sites
• Old Bailey Proceedings
• Estimating London’s Population Parish population figures from the Bills of Mortality, Marriage Duty Assessments, and the 1801 census.
