Eighteenth-Century Political Participation & Electoral Culture (ECPPEC)
A project funded by the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council to research how people participated in parliamentary elections in England in the period from 1695 to the Reform Act of 1832. It includes coverage of the role of women. It contains case studies of polling data and essays and also presents polling data for nineteen English constituencies: fourteen boroughs, four counties, and one university. There is also a directory of 1,929 surviving poll books for the period 1695-1832, corresponding to 11,676 separate elections. Information about where the books are held is provided.
