‘Women Listening to Women: an Oral History of the Bristol Crisis Service for Women’
Access a history of Bristol Crisis Service for Women/Self Injury Support.
Between April and October 2021, 22 former volunteers and staff members from Bristol Crisis Service for Women and Self Injury Support were interviewed. The oral histories are on the website and all will be available at the Bishopsgate Institute from Summer 2022 as part of the Bristol Crisis for Women and Self Injury Support Collection. Transcripts of the recordings are available. The site also has a pamphlet describing milestones in their history.
Trigger warning from the site: “These interviews may contain swearing and discussion of self injury, self harm, sexual abuse, childhood sexual abuse, depression, anxiety and suicide.”
