WMO Atlas of Mortality and Economic Losses from Weather, Climate and Water Extremes (1970 – 2019)
A rich source of data published recently by the World Meteorological Organization which gives overview of impacts from weather, climate and water extremes globally from 1970 to 2019 based on disaster data from the Emergency Events Database (EM-DAT).
There were more than 11,000 reported disasters attributed to these hazards globally, with just over 2 million deaths and US$ 3.64 trillion in losses.
