The Legal Tools for Peacemaking Project at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law, University of Cambridge, in collaboration with the Mediation Support Unit in the UN Department of Political Affairs (DPA), has created the new database, Language of Peace. It enables researchers to quickly cross-search the provisions words and language used in over 1,000 peace agreements and treaties concluded since 1945 . It complements and builds on the UN Peacemaker database, which hosts full-text documents of such agreements. The agreements has been categorised according to 226 issues commonly faced in peace negotiations, grouped under 26 main headings.
It is possible to search by data, region or by theme such as inclusion of women and reconciliation.
