The total number of terrorist attacks and total deaths due to terrorist attacks worldwide decreased by 12% in 2015, according to the latest annual update of the Global Terrorism Database (GTD) from The National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START). The database is the largest open-access database including information on terrorist attacks that took place around the world between 1970 and 2015. It is possible to view geocoded maps covering the 45 years or to look at the results by region or group (including IS) and type of attack.
Released this week: EU Terrorism Situation and Trend Report (TE-SAT). This annual report from Eurpol provides an overview of terrorist attacks that took place in the EU during 2015. This includes failed attacks, arrests and convictions for terrorism.
