Cybersecurity and privacy of data

The Culture, Media and Sport Committee have launched an inquiry into cyber security following the recent cyber-attack of TalkTalk’s website.

This will focus specifically on TalkTalk as well as more generally on privacy and regulation online.

The website will have committee minutes and reports available to the public.

Information Commissioners Office has issued a statement on the incident.  Its website has information on trends in recent data security breaches  It also contains information on the legislation relating to data security in the UK.

From a consumer perspective try a recent the Kaspersky Lab, annual global research study which  explores device ownership and Internet use, as well as awareness and experience of current cyberthreats.  This year it found consumers more aware of cyberthreats.
