Global incidences of FMG
- The United Nations has designated 6th February as International day of Zero Tolerance for FMG. Its resolution A/RES/67/146 calls upon governments to end the practice which is regarded as a violation of human rights.
- UNICEF estimated in 2014 that 130 million women were affected by FGM. Its website also contains detailed country data and future worldwide predictions.
- UNFPA estimated (2013) By the end of 2010, 13.7 million girls aged 15-19 had experienced some form of FGM. Its website also has reports on health promotion projects.
- Save the Children Fund also has some reports relating to girls.
- Amnesty International’s End FGM Europe campaign website has a wealth of qualitative reports and quantitative data on FMG in EU nations.
