International Debt Statistics 2014
Just launched by the World Bank, this new publication replaces the previous Global Development Finance, Volume II (1997 to 2009) and the earlier World Debt Tables (1973 to 1996). The publication has data from 2000 onwards covering over 200 indicators.
Online tables can be found on the World Bank open data site.
Also related is the the Quarterly Public Sector database (QPSD) developed in partnership with the International Monetary Fund which can be accessed from the list of databases on the World Bank website.
Joint External Debt Hub
brings together external debt data and selected foreign assets from international creditor/market sources including the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the World Bank (WB).
Finally on this topic an interesting visualisation is the Global debt clock which is made available on the Economist website using data supplied by the Economist Intelligence Unit. It has a real time running clock of global public debt it is also possible to cross compare different nations worldwide.
