ITU and UNESCO set up the Broadband Commission for Digital Development in response to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon’s call to step up UN efforts to meet the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
Topics covered include connections, speed and affordability of broadband. The focus is upon broadband for development.
Other useful sources of data on broadband include: ITU ict eye which is a free source of statistics. It has basic data on fixed and broadband internet connections from 1998 onwards by country.
