Sipri does offer free access to a wealth of other information via their website. They have in beta a new data portal which has great visualizations on international arms transfers, world military expenditure, the arms and military services industry and multilateral peace operations.
Also available separately the Military expenditure database 1988-2012 covers 172 nations worldwide

Another good source of data on this topic is the United Nations office for Disarmament Affairs. The yearbook is available online from 2002 onwards. The website also has a has a disarmament resolutions and decisions database, and United Nations Register of Conventional Arms, a Database of the texts and status of treaties and agreements
and the United Nations Report on Military Expenditures.
