U.K. CPI dropped to a seven-month low last month, driven by lower energy prices. April’s 2.4 percent was less than economists’ median forecast of 2.6 percent. The ECB announced a rate cut on May 2 after euro-area CPI fell to 1.2 percent, as shown in the Inflation Monitor. This is below the ECB’s inflation target of below 2 percent.
