The newly released documents come from the U.S. v. Liddy criminal trial against seven of the individuals involved in the Watergate break-in scandal that led to the impeachment and resignation of President Richard Nixon. They include evidentiary discussions held outside the jury’s hearing, pre-trial discussions with defendants’ lawyers and the court, and post-trial sentencing information.
These supplement materials already online at the Nixon library
Also available are free resources offered by the National Security Archive at George Washington University. They include electronic briefing books with scanned declassified documents. Take a look at this one on Nixon and secret FBI tapes for a good example.
The Washington post Watergate site has examples of original reporting.
