Conference update: ‘L’esperienza del luogo’: Italian photography, writing and landscape. Luigi Ghirri, his contemporaries, his legacy. University of Leicester, Stamford Court, 19-21 September 2014.

The conference is fast approaching! Well done to Marina and Jacopo and all others at the University of Leicester who have worked so hard to bring it all together, as well as to those who will be contributing to the programme by delivering papers. More information is now available on our webpage regarding the conference, including the abstracts of those who will be presenting. I am currently in the process of translating the Italian abstracts and these will be uploaded as soon as possible. As I make my way through these abstracts, I am becoming increasingly aware of the complexity involved in addressing the work of Ghirri and his contemporaries. I am sure that the conference will be very productive in expanding on Ghirri’s work and that of others, proving also to be a great opportunity for those who are attending to network and share their ideas.
