The Blackboard Adaptive Release feature allows you to restrict access to areas of Blackboard such as content folders, and to content items such as assignments, quizzes, Learning Modules and so forth.
Adaptive Release allows you to restrict access on:
- Date – display after or display until a certain date.
- Membership – restrict to groups or individuals.
- Grade – scores on an assessment, or an attempt at an assessment.
- Review Status – restrict access until a student indicates they have reviewed Blackboard content. This could be a statement about plagiarism policy before being allowed to upload an assignment.
You can choose any or all of the above as your criteria for Adaptive Release (AND rule).
The advanced Adaptive Release function allows you to use the same criteria, but you can create ‘OR’ rules as well as AND rules. For example you could have membership of a group, OR an assessment score.
This video shows you how to set up a rule in the basic Adaptive Release. A later video will demonstrate the advanced Adaptive release. The Leicester University IT help page for Adaptive release is here.
