About

Consuming Authenticities is the project blog of an AHRC-funded research project “Consuming Authenticities: Time, Place and the Past in the Construction of ‘Authentic’ Foods and Drinks” involving scholars from the Universities of Leicester, Exeter, Wales Trinity St David, and Middlesex, and a major heritage organisation, the People’s Collection Wales. We’re investigating how different temporal concepts, like timelessness and tradition, and different understandings of history, are involved in the creation of ideas about authenticity in relation to different foods and drinks from both close to home and from around the world.
