Black History Month event – In Conversation with Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock

As part of our events to mark Black History Month this October, we’re really excited to have our new Chancellor, Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock, join us for a very special event on campus on Friday 20 October.

In Conversation with Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock MBE is an intimate and candid discussion hosted by myself and Jade Thomas, Liberation Officer at the Students’ Union, which will see Maggie speaking to staff and students about her experiences as a Black woman in the UK. She will also be taking questions from the audience, and there will be a drinks reception afterwards to continue the discussion.

Date: Friday 20 October 2023
Time: 4.00-5.30pm
Location: Sir Bob Burgess Building Lecture Theatre 2
Tickets: Register for your space online

Maggie is a truly inspirational figurehead for our University, and I would really encourage you all to attend, to understand more about her background and how she will impact our university throughout her time as Chancellor.
