Join our National Space Centre colleagues for a LIVE Space Astronaut Q&A with SpaceX Demo-2 Astronauts Robert L. Behnken and Douglas G. Hurley, this Friday 22 January 19:00-20:00.

Thanks to the team at NASA Astronauts, we are delighted to be joined online by joint Operations Commander on the first crewed flight of the SpaceX Crew Dragon, the Demo-2 mission, Robert L. Behnken and Douglas G. Hurley. This is your opportunity to ask your questions in a free online session. NASA Astronaut Robert L. Behnken

Robert L. Behnken was selected as an astronaut by NASA in 2000 and is a veteran of two space shuttle flights. A native of Missouri, Behnken flew STS-123 in March 2008 and STS-130 in February 2010, logging more than 708 hours in space, and more than 37 hours during six spacewalks. Behnken most recently served as Joint Operations Commander on the first crewed flight of the SpaceX Crew Dragon, the Demo-2 mission, which landed August 2, 2020. He also served as Flight Engineer on the International Space Station for Expedition 63.

NASA Astronaut Douglas G. Hurley


Douglas G. Hurley was selected as an astronaut in 2000. A veteran of three spaceflights, he was the pilot on STS‐127 and STS‐135 and Spacecraft Commander on the first crewed test flight of the SpaceX Crew Dragon, the Demo-2 Mission, during which he also served as a Flight Engineer on the International Space Station for Expedition 63. Hurley holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Tulane University. Before joining NASA, he was a fighter pilot and test pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps. He has spent a total of 93 days in space.
