As part of our digitisation work here in the Waugh Corner, we will soon be making the entire back catalogue of the Evelyn Waugh Society’s publication, Evelyn Waugh Newsletter/Evelyn Waugh Studies, available through Leicester’s Special Collections Online. The newsletter has been running since 1967 and was originally edited by the eminent scholar Paul A. Doyle, who posted it out to some 200 subscribers in envelopes he addressed by hand.
Yesterday, in the midst of applying metadata to this invaluable Waugh resource, I came across the following quiz, written by Thomas Gribble in 1982. Any takers? Answers next week, and no Googling!
