This lunch time drop in session – 7th May 2014, 12:00 to 1:00 – is designed for busy academic teaching staff with little time to attend a workshop on pedagogical areas they would like to ‘find out a bit more’ about. See how your Blackboard course sites look on mobile devices and Blackboard Mobile Learn. Bring along your lunch and get involved in small group and large group discussions with colleagues.
Exploration and evaluation of the following in relation to mobile learning:
- What is it?
- Who is doing it?
- How does it work?
- Why is it significant?
- What are the downsides?
- What are the implications for teaching and learning?
No prior knowledge or experience of mobile learning is needed for this workshop but an understanding of what it entails would be beneficial.
On completion of this session you will be able to:
- Share with colleagues what you know about the challenges, opportunities and pedagogical models associated with mobile learning
- Evaluate elements of your Blackboard course site to facilitate mobile learning
