In the current version of Blackboard (9.1) there are two options if you want to have your students completing a reflective writing or journal/diary exercise – use the Blog or Journal tools.
The features in each are the same, so what’s the difference?
Blog
Blogs are designed to be visible to and allow comments from everyone enrolled in the Bb course. With an individual Blog, each person posts entries to their own Blog but everyone can see and comment on them.
Journal
Journals are intended to be private between the student and the you, the instructor. The student can submit entries and the instructor can add comments. No one except the student and you can see that student’s entries to a Journal. A Journal can be made public so that others in the class can see the entries and comments. However, no one but the instructor and the student whose Journal it is can add comments.
Comments are closed, but trackbacks and pingbacks are open.
