The Physics Community Team is delighted to invite all members of the School to the first PhysUoL Live discussion event, this Friday November 27th at 4pm.
This will be the first in a series of live Q&A sessions hosted via Microsoft Teams, allowing students and staff to get up to speed with the latest scientific projects in our School, and to look ahead to the future. This is your opportunity to ask our panel those burning questions, in a light-hearted and informal setting.
Our first Q&A session will explore “The Next Big Things in Astro”, and will be hosted by Dr. Leigh Fletcher. Topics could include future space telescopes (from JWST to LUVOIR to the next generation of extremely-large telescopes), multi-messenger astronomy with gravitational waves, and the exploration of extrasolar planets.
The panel will consist of Dr. Charly Feldman, Prof. Martin Barstow, Prof. Andrew Blain and Prof. Paul O’Brien. The sky is, quite literally, the limit, so feel free to ask your astrophysical questions via the “chat” function in MSTeams during the live session – we will be monitoring the chat and attempt to address them during the session.
UPDATE: Members of the School can catch up on the meeting via Microsoft Stream.
