Why Not… Run a Crossword Morning?

Postgraduates within the School run crossword coffee mornings every day to stay connected during home working, writes Rosie Hodnett.

Sometimes we need an excuse to run a virtual meeting to get people talking. The PGR students within the Planetary Science Group have been running daily crossword puzzles to keep people connected, and this model could be used by other teams across the School.

The location for running the session needs to have screen-sharing capability, for example Microsoft Teams or Discord.

The PGR team use the Guardian’s quick crossword, found here (but other crosswords are available!): https://www.theguardian.com/crosswords/series/quick

Someone runs the session by sharing their screen, as others suggest the answers to be filled in. Clicking the “Check this” button reveals if the answer is correct. An anagram helper is also included.

So why not try this with your friends and colleagues, and stay connected?
