
The first students to study physics at what was then University College, Leicester were enrolled in 1925. A class of 10 students were enrolled, and a single lecturer appointed.
On 17 May 2025, the now thriving School of Physics and Astronomy hosted a celebration of the centenary during which Emeritus Professor Ken Pounds gave a talk on the history of these first 100 years, for which you can find the slides below.
