18th June 2013 Sol 308

I am taking my turn at being the GeoMin group theme lead this sol.  I am also the ChemCam science theme group member. That is an enjoyable job, choosing potential targets for the ChemCam Laser analyses but as always we have to balance the energy and time requirements to analyse, photograph and drive.

Here is one of the outcrops we have been studying at Point Lake.  It has an unusual amount of void space: have clasts fallen out or are they some form of corrosion or gas bubble? We are driving on to the Shaler outcrop today for a new set of analyses, after that we start SW for Mount Sharp.
