Following the immediate success of <em>The Tale of Peter Rabbit,<\/em> publishers Frederick Warne &amp; Co (who had previously turned it down) encouraged Potter to reconsider their decision with the clause that it be re-illustrated in colour.\u00b9<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/specialcollections\/files\/2016\/07\/DSC_0088.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-806 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/specialcollections\/files\/2016\/07\/DSC_0088-300x269.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0088\" width=\"300\" height=\"269\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/specialcollections\/files\/2016\/07\/DSC_0088-300x269.jpg 300w, https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/specialcollections\/files\/2016\/07\/DSC_0088-768x689.jpg 768w, https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/specialcollections\/files\/2016\/07\/DSC_0088-1024x918.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After its publication in 1902, <em>The Tale of Peter Rabbit<\/em> was just the start of the legendary tales which were, and continue to be, enjoyed by the masses.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Thursday 28<sup>th<\/sup> July 2016 marks the 150<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of Beatrix Potter\u2019s birth, and what better way to celebrate than to rediscover favourites such as: <em>The Story of Miss Moppet<\/em>, <em>The Tailor of Gloucester<\/em>, and of course <em>The Tale of Peter Rabbit<\/em>.
