It includes coverage of the role of women.  It contains case studies of polling data and essays and also presents polling data for nineteen English constituencies: fourteen boroughs, four counties, and one university. There is also a \u00a0directory of 1,929 surviving poll books for the period 1695-1832, corresponding to 11,676 separate elections.
