A really great site for students<\/a> created by Trevor Millum who studied History at Birmingham University before completing a\u00a0PhD\u00a0at the Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies in Visual Communication in Advertising. It is based on his PhD thesis with added content including advice on analysing images and further images added from the 21st<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n

The original thesis was subsequently published as Images of Woman (by Chatto and Windus 1975) it was based on\u00a0 study of 6 magazines:\u00a0Woman, Woman\u2019s Own, Woman and Home, Honey, Nova\u00a0and\u00a0Petticoat.\u00a0 It has sections on beauty, health and style advertising.
