{"id":3753,"date":"2018-10-05T09:20:30","date_gmt":"2018-10-05T09:20:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/socscilibrarians\/?p=3753"},"modified":"2024-11-26T17:49:06","modified_gmt":"2024-11-26T17:49:06","slug":"congressional-reports-service-website-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/socscilibrarians\/2018\/10\/05\/congressional-reports-service-website-launched\/","title":{"rendered":"Congressional Reports Service website launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently <a href=\"https:\/\/crsreports.congress.gov\/\">launched, an official website<\/a> which provides free access to non-confidential briefing papers and reports supplied to members of the US Congress.\u00a0 They are working to add back files.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/crsreports.congress.gov\/Home\/About\">See the FAQS for<\/a> details of inclusions and material that will be added.<br \/>\nThese are excellent for gaining an understanding of the US legislative process, they include updates and background information on bills and budgets.<\/p>\n<p>They are the equivalent of the really useful research briefings from the <a href=\"https:\/\/researchbriefings.parliament.uk\/\">House of Commons and Lords libraries\u00a0\u00a0<\/a>(UoL students can get access via <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.le.ac.uk\/library\/find\/governmentinformation\">https:\/\/www2.le.ac.uk\/library\/find\/governmentinformation<\/a> (look for library Research Briefings)) which are excellent at summarising recent legislation, election results and current topics being debated in parliament.\u00a0 Many have links to background papers and parliamentary reports.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently launched, an official website which provides free access to non-confidential briefing papers and reports supplied to members of the US Congress.\u00a0 They are working to add back files.
