{"id":3157,"date":"2017-06-23T13:35:07","date_gmt":"2017-06-23T13:35:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/socscilibrarians\/?p=3157"},"modified":"2024-11-26T17:49:29","modified_gmt":"2024-11-26T17:49:29","slug":"ituc-global-rights-index-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/socscilibrarians\/2017\/06\/23\/ituc-global-rights-index-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"ITUC Global Rights Index 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The latest annual report from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ituc-csi.org\/ituc-global-rights-index-2017\">the International Trade Union Federation ranks<\/a> on the worse countries to work in in terms of trade union and labour protection.\u00a0 Topics covered include the right to strike, engage in collective bargaining and civil rights such as the right\u00a0of free assembly.<\/p>\n<p>Also released recently by the ILO <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ilo.org\/global\/research\/global-reports\/weso\/trends-for-women2017\/WCMS_557245\/lang--en\/index.htm\">World Employment and Social Outlook: Trends for women 2017<\/a> which reviews progress over the last 20 years.<\/p>\n<p>It examines regional and global trends and the barriers women face entering the labour force, finding work and achieving equal pay.\u00a0 Estimates of loss of GDP due to restricted female labour force participation are provided.<\/p>\n<p>For further data on workers wages and conditions see the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ilo.org\/ilostat\/\">ILOSTAT<\/a> database which provides access to datasets and country files covering a range of labour market conditions.
