However many find\u00a0 current immigration rules onerous.<\/p>\n<p>This echoes a <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.universitiesuk.ac.uk\/2014\/04\/04\/study-highlights-value-of-international-students-to-the-uk\/\">Universities UK 2014 analysis<\/a> which also highlighted the positive economic impact.<\/p>\n<p>A number of organisations have emphasised that the benefits of foreign students are cultural as well as economic. Universities\u2019 Scotland report: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.universities-scotland.ac.uk\/uploads\/Richer%20For%20It%20US%20-%20270813SMALL.pdf\">Richer for it<\/a> refers to the immediate enrichment of student life as well as a longer term diversity in local communities. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishcouncil.org\/sites\/britishcouncil.uk2\/files\/influence-and-attraction-report.pdf\">British Council<\/a> has also focused on the value of increasing links with different cultures. In 2014, it released a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishcouncil.org\/education\/ihe\/knowledge-centre\/student-mobility\/report-integration-international-students\">survey on attitudes towards international students<\/a> which revealed that UK students view their presence as a positive influence.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications?keywords=international+students&amp;publication_filter_option=all&amp;topics%5B%5D=all&amp;departments%5B%5D=department-for-business-innovation-skills&amp;official_document_status=all&amp;world_locations%5B%5D=all&amp;from_date=&amp;to_date=\">UK government policy documents relating to international students<\/a> include a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/uploads\/system\/uploads\/attachment_data\/file\/240407\/bis-13-1172-the-wider-benefits-of-international-higher-education-in-the-uk.pdf\">2013 report <\/a>on the wider benefits of international higher education.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to the latest report from London First, foreign students in London add a total of \u00a32.3 billion to the economy.
