I also manage both of the Oadby Observatories. I fix damaged equipment during labs and maintain the current equipment. When at the observatory I am responsible for its maintenance and operation. I provide training sessions for new students and staff to use the telescopes.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What made you want to start on this career path?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I always had a passion for Science, especially Physics.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you could give your former self one piece of advice what would it be?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I don&#8217;t have any regrets and would not change a thing about my life.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is your favourite thing to do outside of work?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Binge watching Netflix and cooking. I also have an interest in DIY. My next project will be making a garden swing.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do you have any interesting hobbies or collections?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cooking and fitness. I did a lot of the cooking for the Diwali celebration in the Physics department last year which I really enjoyed. The response was very overwhelming, it was so beautiful to see everyone joining in to celebrate the Indian Festival of Light.<br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/physicsastronomy\/files\/2020\/12\/Diwali.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-596\" width=\"442\" height=\"258\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/physicsastronomy\/files\/2020\/12\/Diwali.png 613w, https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/physicsastronomy\/files\/2020\/12\/Diwali-300x176.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 442px) 100vw, 442px\" \/><figcaption>Some of the food prepared for celebration of Diwali.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>What is your proudest achievement (doesn&#8217;t have to be work related)?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is always nice to receive positive feedback from students and colleagues, it&#8217;s extremely rewarding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I received a &#8216;Discovering Excellence&#8217; award in 2019, which made me so happy.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you had to describe yourself in one word what word would you choose?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Driven.<br><br><br>Dipali also commented on the atmosphere within the department:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>I really enjoy working in this department.
