We welcome email submissions from any member of the School &#8211; please send directly to <a href=\"mailto:phys.community@le.ac.uk\">the Editor<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to Include in the Email<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A short, descriptive title.<\/li><li>A single sentence to introduces the blog (like the bold, italic sentence at the top of this page), and states the name of the author.<\/li><li>A proposed date for publication.<\/li><li>An eye-catching image, preferably square (or close to it), with a suggested caption.<\/li><li>Any links or YouTube clips to embed in the blog post.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ideas for Content<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There&#8217;s no real limit to what we&#8217;ll consider for inclusion within the Physics and Astronomy blog, provided it is of interest to the community.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Maybe you&#8217;ve had a paper published on a new scientific result, and would like to describe the discovery to a general audience?  <\/li><li>Maybe you&#8217;re planning an event or running a society, and would like to advertise to the wider community?  <\/li><li>Or you&#8217;ve been involved in public engagement, outreach, internships, or EDI (equality, diversity, inclusivity) events, and would like to share your experiences?  <\/li><li>Maybe you have an opinion on timely news that&#8217;s relevant to the School of Physics and Astronomy, and would like to blog about it?<\/li><li>If you&#8217;ve won a prize, gained an award, or been honoured in any way, we want to celebrate and share with the School!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Our aim is to celebrate the successes of our diverse School, and ensure that everyone is aware of the opportunities available to them during their time in Leicester.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We welcome contributions from across the School of Physics and Astronomy, and this brief post describes what we&#8217;re looking for in a successful post.
