Welcome to \u2018Viewing and writing Italian landscape. Luigi Ghirri and his legacy in photography and literature\u2019. This blog is linked to a new interdisciplinary research network that brings together scholars, artists\/photographers and writers in order to discuss Luigi Ghirri\u2019s work and legacy, and, more broadly, the intersection among contemporary photography\/visual culture, literature and the investigation of space, place and landscape within Italy and beyond. The project seeks to offer new opportunities for dialogue among scholars, students and practitioners working in different fields and from different theoretical approaches on a wide range of questions relating to the above topics, with a pivotal focus on the work of Luigi Ghirri. The aims of this blog are to raise interest and intellectual debate about these topics, to foster dialogue among artists, writers, scholars and the public, and to establish new links between Italian and British\/Irish\/Anglophone artistic\/literary practice and cultural\/theoretical debates.<\/p>\n

The project is supported by a British Academy\/Leverhulme Trust Small Research Grant.<\/p>\n

Benvenuti al blog del progetto \u2018Viewing and writing Italian landscape. Luigi Ghirri and his legacy in photography and literature\u2019. Questo progetto di ricerca interdisciplinare riunisce studiosi, artisti\/fotografi e scrittori per discutere l\u2019opera e il lascito culturale di Luigi Ghirri, e pi\u00f9 in generale le intersezioni tra la fotografia contemporanea, la letteratura\/narrativa e l\u2019investigazione dello spazio, del luogo e del paesaggio, in Italia e all\u2019estero. Il network offre nuove opportunit\u00e0 di dialogo fra studiosi, studenti, artisti e operatori culturali che lavorano in campi diversi e partendo da differenti approcci teorici, attorno a una vasta gamma di questioni relative ai temi sopracitati, e all\u2019opera di Luigi Ghirri. Gli scopi del blog sono: accrescere l\u2019interesse e il dibattito su questi temi, incoraggiare il dialogo tra artisti, scrittori, studiosi e il pubblico, stabilire nuovi legami tra la pratica artistica\/narrativa e il dibattito teorico\/culturale in Italia, nelle Isole Britanniche\/paesi anglofoni, ed oltre.<\/p>\n
