South Asian Heritage Month is the name given to the month-long celebration in the South Asian diaspora to celebrate the heritage of people with roots in the South Asian countries of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, and the Maldives. According to the South Asian Heritage Trust \u201cPeople of South Asian heritage are a significant part of the British population, with around 4.5 million strong, that’s around 1 in every 14 people in the country having South Asian heritage.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n


It is particularly appropriate to mark the month in Leicester, given the cultural landscape of the city.
