The society is donating \u00a350 towards the planting of a red oak tree (quercus rubra) on the boundary between campus and Victoria Park. SPELL Secretary Suzi Shimwell who led the bid to get the tree planted explained that \u2018the idea came out of a brainstorming session \u2013 we wanted to give something back to the wider community and came up with the idea of an \u2018apolo-tree\u2019 \u2013 a tree planted by way of apology for all the paper we\u2019ve used in the pursuit of our research\u2019.
