{"id":115,"date":"2015-05-19T16:48:19","date_gmt":"2015-05-19T16:48:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/consumingauthenticities\/?p=115"},"modified":"2025-02-26T13:25:07","modified_gmt":"2025-02-26T13:25:07","slug":"our-impact-so-far","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/consumingauthenticities\/2015\/05\/19\/our-impact-so-far\/","title":{"rendered":"Our Impact So Far"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Saturday, May 16th, we held a fascinating whole-day <a href=\"https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/consumingauthenticities\/2015\/05\/16\/consuming-authenticities-collaborators-workshop-at-the-national-library-of-wales\/\">event<\/a>\u00a0at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.llgc.org.uk\/\">National Library of Wales<\/a>, where our collaborators shared their views and experiences on the different drink and food products we are investigating and discussed what factors and processes are involved into making them authentic.<\/p>\n<p>As expected, we had a great participation from Welsh craft cider producers, some even bringing their wonderful artisan cider for us to sample:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_118\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/consumingauthenticities\/files\/2015\/05\/11209680_10205726726180760_4190440931670195223_n.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-118\" class=\"wp-image-118\" src=\"https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/consumingauthenticities\/files\/2015\/05\/11209680_10205726726180760_4190440931670195223_n-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"Welsh Craft Cider\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/consumingauthenticities\/files\/2015\/05\/11209680_10205726726180760_4190440931670195223_n-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/staffblogs.le.ac.uk\/consumingauthenticities\/files\/2015\/05\/11209680_10205726726180760_4190440931670195223_n.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-118\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Welsh Craft Cider<\/p><\/div>\n<p>We were especially pleased to see that our project is doing well in terms of impact.\u00a0The workshop has motivated stakeholders to reflect on the authenticity, significance and emotive associations of their \u2018national\u2019 foods and drinks, especially cider and pulque, and take further action in promoting their drink products to the wider public. It was also great to hear that the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.peoplescollection.wales\/\">People&#8217;s Collection of Wales<\/a>\u00a0plans to continue the cider research after the project finishes.<br \/>\nWe are already planning <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.le.ac.uk\/departments\/history\/research\/grants\/consuming-authenticities-time-place-and-the-past-in-the-construction-of-201cauthentic201d-foods-and-drinks\/events\">next event<\/a>, the launch of our recipe book, in October 23rd 2015, at the Senate House, London.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Hope to see you all there!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Saturday, May 16th, we held a fascinating whole-day event\u00a0at the National Library of Wales, where our collaborators shared their views and experiences on the different drink and food products we are investigating and discussed what factors and processes are involved into making them authentic.
