Since it might be of interest to anyone who has read that posting I have reproduced the details below.<\/p>\n<p>Dear Allstat Member<\/p>\n<p>The Royal Statistical Society is delighted to announce that Bradley Efron will present his recently published paper at our next Journal webinar on Wednesday 21st October at 4pm (UK time). We are also very pleased to welcome Andrew Gelman, as discussant for this event, and Peter Diggle, as chair, to what we are sure will be an interesting and informative event.<\/p>\n<p>Journal webinars are sponsored by Quintiles and are free and open to everyone.<\/p>\n<p>From our prestigious Series B journal, we have selected this important, thought-provoking paper:<\/p>\n<p>Paper: &#8221;Frequentist accuracy of Bayesian estimates&#8217;<br \/>\nAuthor and presenter: Bradley Efron, Max H Stein Professor of Humanities and Sciences, Professor of Statistics at Stanford University<\/p>\n<p>Discussant: Andrew Gelman, Professor of Statistics and Political Science and Director of the Applied Statistics Center, Columbia University<\/p>\n<p>Chair: Peter Diggle, President of the Royal Statistical Society and Distinguished University Professor, CHICAS, Lancaster University Medical School<\/p>\n<p>The paper was published in June in the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series B (Statistical Methodology), Vol 77 (3), 617-646.<br \/>\nIt will be free to access from early until late October.<\/p>\n<p>Webinars are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rss.org.uk\/RSS\/Events\/Online_and_virtual_events\/Journal_club\/RSS\/Events\/Online_and_virtual_events_sub\/Journal_Club.aspx?hkey=8eb66018-8969-4253-bd48-3c575c98040e\">simple and free to join<\/a>.
